We are looking forward to your participation. You will make our holiday fun a success. 🎉
And if all those items can be submitted to Sarah by Tuesday, Nov 21st as well, it will give her time to organize these games.
The holidays are quickly approaching. The Social Committee needs your help with games. Feel free to participate in one or all tree games. Please send your answers/pictures to Sarah - sarahkreller@gmail.com - or in person.
1. Who Is It? Bingo! Can you stump us? Is there a weird, wacky, silly, or interesting fact you would like to share with the group? Back by popular demand. **must be present at the Holiday Party to participate in this game**.
2. Two Truths & A Lie Send me two truths and one lie about yourself. Let's see if the group knows which is which!
3. CPS Baby Pictures Please send me a baby or childhood picture of yourself (or bring me the original in an envelope with your name on it. I will make a copy and return it to you). Let's see how recognizable you are!
Book Club:

Date & Time: April 26th at 12:00 PM
Location: 3rd Floor Doctor's Lounge

We will be going over our 2nd book, Zero Days by Ruth Ware. Join us in the doctor's lounge for some light lunch (TBD - open to ideas that fit the book!) to chat about the book. See you then!

It's time for Hitched Coffee!

Have a look at the menu and decide which hot beverage you'd like to indulge in today.
Once you've made your pick, write it down on your coffee ticket and bring it to the coffee truck located at the back of the North MC1 parking lot.

Don't worry if you can't make it to the truck yourself, just have a peer bring down your ticket!
Cheers!

St. Mary’s Foundation Hike for Heart: Some of you may have heard SMGH will be hosting their annual Hike for Heart at Laurelwood Creek again this year on Sunday, September 10th! CPS will be entering a team again this year and we would love to have you join us for a Hike or a Bike. If you are not able to join us in person, please consider sponsoring our CPS team. We have a goal to raise $1000 for SMGH! (follow the link for info) https://secure.supportstmarys.ca/site/TR/Events/General?team_id=1430&pg=team&fr_id=1080. Have questions about the team, ask Gen.
Blue Jays game: September 9th.
Thanks to all who indicated they were interested in attending a Blue Jays game with CPS! Kellie is busy getting this organized and more details will follow soon, but for now Save the date for Saturday, September 9th.
CPS Blue Jays game:
Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey to gauge interest in a Blue Jays game. It appears that we do have enough interest to pursue this and Kellie will be investigating how best to do that.. .. stay tuned!
CPS First Puzzle Exchange days:
I understand that we have a few “puzzlers” here at the lab, and it was suggested that we have a puzzle exchange day. So, we’re going to have a couple of them.. From Friday, June 23 through to Monday, June 26th we’re going to dedicate stress lab 2 for Puzzle Exchanges. Bring in your puzzles which are done and swap them out for new ones. Happy Puzzling!
SMGH Red Day: June 9th is Red Day and we’re hoping to have everyone wear red that day.. but leading up to that we have a couple of baskets we are raffling off with all funds going to the SMGH Foundation.
Tickets are $5 for 1 or $20 for 5 tickets.

We have two different baskets.. both are red themed, but one is more “boozie” than the other, so once you purchase your ticket(s) you can decide which basket you want to enter to win.

You can purchase you tickets from Kim and we’ll pull the winners on Friday, June 9th at lunch.
Best of luck to all who participate .. these are awesome looking baskets and thanks to Sarah Kreller for putting them together!

June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day (Save the date):

We have arranged for Dr. Sarah Connors, ND to be speaking about the meaning of Truth and Reconciliation, focusing on the history and long-standing effects of residential schools, colonization, and colonialism.
She will discuss concepts such as intergenerational trauma and its impact on Indigenous health and healing, as well as the importance of honoring the strength and resilience of Indigenous peoples and the invaluable contributions that Indigenous peoples continue to make in all aspects of life in Canada. She will also be touching on the importance of cultivating and providing culturally aware care within the healthcare system, and how we can take steps to make that happen.
The CPS Social committee will be sponsoring this talk over lunch in the Doctor’s Lounge… and wearing your Orange Shirt is encouraged that day!

02/16/2023 - The Social Committee is Expanding!

With two of our social committee members now on Maternity leave, it seems like a good time to relook at what our social committee can do for all of you. We are wondering everyone's thoughts on a few things related to the social committee. So, I'm hoping you can all take about 60 seconds to complete our survey. Please see below.

One of the questions in the survey is whether you might be interested in joining the social committee. It's fairly low commitment and you can participate in the level of which you are comfortable. If you are interested, feel free to speak to Kim or one of the other committee members!
